About the lighthouse:
Old Baldy Light is actually known by three different names: Old Baldy, Bald Head Light and Cape Fear, as it sits at the mouth of Cape Fear River. Built in 1818, it was North Carolina's first established light station. Its fortress-like construction of five-foot-thick brick walls, seven-foot-thick brick foundation and covering of thick sandstone has allowed Old Baldy to withstand the test of time. The lighthouse is now deactivated, but it is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Overall lamp height is 24".

Another stunning nautical offering is our Port Lantern Lamp. Crafted in sturdy metal, with an antique bronze finish, this classic Port version sports a red glass lens, which in nautical terms indicates port side (the left). Each lantern is permanently mounted onto our five-quarter pine planking, warmly stained with a hand-rubbed finish and wrapped all around in our trademark white nautical rope. Each is specially three-way wired to illuminate the glass lens as a dramatic accent or night light, just the top for table lamp use, or both together. Topped with our classic cream linen shade. Lamp stands about 23" high.
