About the lighthouse:
Sometimes called Cape Kennedy Light for its location within the Kennedy Space Center, this light is a unique participant in American history, as its beacon signals to both ships of the sea and air. Built in 1868, it is able to be dismantled, moved and then reassembled to protect it from the dangers of beach erosion. Overall lamp height is 25".

The Boston Harbor Light is the oldest lighthouse in continuous service in the United States, and it is still manned today by the U.S. Coast Guard. Built in 1783 on an island in Boston Harbor, it sits on the site of the nation's first lighthouse, which was destroyed by the British in the Revolutionary War. In 1852, the present lighthouse tower was increased from 75 feet to 89 feet to make passage into Boston safer. Overall lamp height is 25".
